The Ministers of the Purley and Kenley Churches Together (PKCT) have agreed a new way of operating in 2023. At a celebration breakfast at the end of 2022 we discussed this with the lay group members, outlining a continuing focus on social action and a renewed emphasis on evangelism.

This means that we will no longer seek to jointly plan and lay on events. Instead each church with an idea in mind will coordinate activities and events and invite others to help and join in. This reflects the reality of how we have been working as we came out of the lockdown with many fruitful bipartisan arrangements for activities and jointly held services (eg Good Friday last year and Summer services).

The Christmas lights have been passed on to Purley BID to coordinate and the bank account for PKCT has been closed and the small balance donated to CAP services. The website for PKCT has also been closed down because it was not proving to be good value for money.

PKCT is very much alive and will have greater flexibility and responsiveness and a renewed vigour for churches to work together and share the Good News of Jesus Christ with our community. If you have an idea about how to reach out to the community either in service or in new ways to share the Good News please approach your minister who can share that with other churches through our regular meetings.
